Final Pack - 35lbs
I just got off the scale after weighing myself with and without my fully loaded pack, water, and 5 days of food. 35lbs is not bad at all, even with all of my luxuries and my extremely heavy pack. I have everything arranged how I want as well and the pack is riding very well. I'm trying to keep myself from constantly packing and unpacking everything. It's only a few more days now!

not sure if i saw one in your pack list, but any plans on taking a fishing pole? Could be some great lakes along the way. More added weight as well but what about some firearm protection as well?
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to pick up a fishing pole when I get into New England. I hear the fishing up there is really nice.
ReplyDeleteI thought about bringing a firearm but I realized that there was no way I would be able to do so responsibly. There are too many situations in which I'll have to leave my pack unattended and the trail goes through several national parks in which carrying a firearm is illegal. It would've been nice peace of mind but I think the worry over breaking handgun laws and letting some criminal steal it would be worse.
