Wow, technology is amazing. I'm going to try out lots of different media for recording my trip but this one sounds like one of the coolest. TrailPhone.net lets me call in to a number from anywhere along the trail and record a voice message that is instantly available for everyone to hear. It even attaches your current location based on your mileage. Very nice! I put a RSS feed of my audio posts on the sidebar of the site. You can also look at all of the audio posts along with a map at my TrailPhone site:

One of my goals with this hike was to reconnect with people that I haven't done a good job of staying in touch with. I hope this helps. :)

ReplyDeleteLots of technology is awesome. Any plans of a traditional journal for your personal feelings along the way?
ReplyDeleteI'm eagerly awaiting the start of your trip and your updates. You'll be alright in the cold, you have a dog to cuddle.
ReplyDeleteTrail phone is very cool technology. I'm looking forward to listening to all your posts. Sending good thoughts your way! Taylah
ReplyDeleteHeard about Joe and Jasper from one of the other hikers. Jasper was wearing Joe's coat--had the sleeves on his front legs. Sounds like a great sight. Hope you both stayed warm last night.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Joe! You'll be in all of our thoughts and prayers. Looking forward to seeing some updates!

any plans for a personal journal along the way? something with spiritual enlightenment or epiphanies to look back on in 20 years?
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the comments everyone. I just now got a chance to post them but I have it set up now to automatically post comments so they show up while I'm on the trail.
ReplyDeleteI'm planning on journaling with this blog but I may not make some of the posts public, depending on whether or not I think anyone would be interested in reading them. :)
We MISS YOU - Cass
